I'm originally from the Northeastern tip of Ohio in the small town of Conneaut. See that red dot? Yepp, that's Conneaut, that's where I grew up.
Here's a pic of my family, that's my mom and dad and I'm in the upper left and that's my little brother on the upper right. That's my grandpa that you can half see on the left.
Anyways ... I was there for 16 years when I moved to Italy for a year as an exchange student when I was in the 11th grade. See the green below, that's where I lived for a whole year!
After that, I moved back home, finished up high school and went to college at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. While I was there I got my Bachelor's in Psychology and worked for the college radio station WJCU where I was trained by none other than DJ Frankage and DJ Mike ... I'll never forget my first time ever on the air, in true "Paul" fashion, I pressed the first button to play my first ever song and ..... silence .... nothing .... thank God for Frankage!! Yea so basically they taught me everything I know, which is how I found out that I love this radio stuff.
Also, shout out to Dan Marangoni, my college roomate who dealt with my constant late night returns to the dorm after having spent a few hours in the studio learning more about audio and editing and radio stuff.
After college I went to Ashtabula, Ohio where I worked 2 years in a small market with some great guys, I definitely have to give a shot out to Roger McCoy who was the first guy to ever hire me for a paying job in radio, albeit 7 dollars an hour, but hey you have to start somewhere! About 2 years later I heard that 106.7 KISS-FM was looking for a music director/afternoon DJ and I said that's gotta be me! I applied, called, e-mailed, called, snail mailed, called, snail mailed again, e-mailed, and called again and finally, I got the job (persistence).
After 3 great years as the afternoon guy on KISS, I landed the job as producer of The Wease Show. I still do afternoons on KISS, but am also up bright and early every morning for 95.1 The Fox. I'm one of those annoying people who claim they love their job so much, they've never felt like they've gone to work a day in their lives.
The Chelsea soccer team played their last match of the season on Sunday, and won 2 to 1. But the best.. and cutest.. goal of the day came AFTER the match, during a player's retirement speech.
A bunch of friends and family were down on the field, and their kids were kicking soccer balls around. Plus, some fans were also still in the stands.
And when the goalie's toddler started dribbling a ball toward one of the goals, the crowd started cheering for him like it was a real game. Then they went NUTS when the ball finally went in, and the kid threw his arms up in the air:
Yaaaaaaaay. To everyone else who used to sport a Charlotte Hornets Starter jacket back in the day just because you liked the colors.. Michael Jordan just announced the Bobcats are going to take the name Hornets back (New Orleans will become The Pelicans).
Paris Hilton is at the Cannes Film Festival in France.. because, you know, when you think about the finest in world cinema, you immediately think of Paris Hilton.
She showed up with her boyfriend River Viiperi on Friday, and they were swarmed by fans and photographers.
Well, River must not be used to the attention, because he was OBVIOUSLY not having a good time. And when a female fan got too close to Paris, he SHOVED her. Twice.
As he and Paris continued walking, River got testy with people several more times. And of course, the paparazzi got the whole thing on film.
