About Pauly
  • I'm originally from the Northeastern tip of Ohio in the small town of Conneaut. See that red dot? Yepp, that's Conneaut, that's where I grew up.

Here's a pic of my family, that's my mom and dad and I'm in the upper left and that's my little brother on the upper right. That's my grandpa that you can half see on the left.

Anyways ... I was there for 16 years when I moved to Italy for a year as an exchange student when I was in the 11th grade. See the green below, that's where I lived for a whole year!

After that, I moved back home, finished up high school and went to college at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. While I was there I got my Bachelor's in Psychology and worked for the college radio station WJCU where I was trained by none other than DJ Frankage and DJ Mike ... I'll never forget my first time ever on the air, in true "Paul" fashion, I pressed the first button to play my first ever song and ..... silence .... nothing .... thank God for Frankage!! Yea so basically they taught me everything I know, which is how I found out that I love this radio stuff.

Also, shout out to Dan Marangoni, my college roomate who dealt with my constant late night returns to the dorm after having spent a few hours in the studio learning more about audio and editing and radio stuff.

After college I went to Ashtabula, Ohio where I worked 2 years in a small market with some great guys, I definitely have to give a shot out to Roger McCoy who was the first guy to ever hire me for a paying job in radio, albeit 7 dollars an hour, but hey you have to start somewhere! About 2 years later I heard that 106.7 KISS-FM was looking for a music director/afternoon DJ and I said that's gotta be me! I applied, called, e-mailed, called, snail mailed, called, snail mailed again, e-mailed, and called again and finally, I got the job (persistence).

After 3 great years as the afternoon guy on KISS, I landed the job as producer of The Wease Show.  I still do afternoons on KISS, but am also up bright and early every morning for 95.1 The Fox.  I'm one of those annoying people who claim they love their job so much, they've never felt like they've gone to work a day in their lives.
